DELIVERING SAFER SCHOOL ROADS IN TRUGANINA

15 October 2026

The Carroll Labor Government is getting on with making roads safer for Truganina students.

Planning is now underway on the Leakes Road and Clearwood Drive Safety Upgrade.

The intersection is a key route for Truganina P-9 College, childcare centres and sports teams.

The upgrade will deliver:

  • A safer pedestrian crossing at Clearwood Drive.
  • A safer speed limit on Leakes Road during school times and electronic speed signs

Detailed planning is expected to be finished by early 2027.

Construction timelines will be confirmed once planning has progressed.

Site assessments will begin to support planning, with some temporary lane closures, footpath closures and reduced speeds.

Labor is delivering the road improvements needed to support Melbourne’s growing west.

Victorians know they can’t trust the Liberals on roads. They cut funding for roads the last time they were in power and under a Liberal-One Nation Coalition, they’ll cut again.
